WHAT SHALL I RENDER TO THE LORD FOR ALL HIS BENEFITS TOWARD ME?

Psalm 116:12-15 (New International Version)

12 How can I repay the LORD
for all his goodness to me?

(1) TELL OTHERS WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR ME

Luke 8:38-39 (New International Version)

38The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39"Return home and tell how much God has done for you." So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.

(2) HUMBLE MYSELF BEFORE GOD

Luke 5:8 (New International Version)

8When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees and said, "Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!"

Romans 3:23 (New International Version)

23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

(3) ASCRIBE THE GLORY TO GOD

Luke 17:15-18 (New International Version)

15One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

17Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?"

(4) NEVER FORGET GOD AND HIS DEEDS

Psalm 103:1-5 (New International Version)

Of David.
1 Praise the LORD, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

2 Praise the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-

3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,

4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,

5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the
eagle's.

(5) KEEP MY PROMISES TO GOD

Psalm 66:12-14 (New International Version)

12 You let men ride over our heads;
we went through fire and water,
but you brought us to a place of abundance.

13 I will come to your temple with burnt offerings
and fulfill my vows to you-

14 vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke
when I was in trouble.

Deuteronomy 23:21 (New International Version)

21 If you make a vow to the LORD your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the LORD your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin.

(6) YIELD MY LIFE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS

John 5:14 (New International Version)

14Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, "See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you."

(7) OFFER MY POSSESSIONS TO GOD AND HIS MINISTRY

Luke 8:1-3 (New International Version)
The Parable of the Sower
1After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, 2and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; 3Joanna the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod's household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.

(8) USE MY GOD WHEN GIFTS FAITHFULLY

1 Peter 4:10-11 (New International Version)

10Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. 11If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

CONCLUSION:

MY ANSWER IS SIMPLE AND SINCERE --

"THANK YOU"

Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God

Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know his power
In quietness and trust

REFINING - 4 AREAS OF TESTING

Isaiah 48:10 (New International Version)

10 See, I have refined you, though not as silver;
I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.

Isaiah 1:25 (New International Version)

25 I will turn my hand against you;
I will thoroughly purge away your dross
and remove all your impurities.

(1) TEST OF LOVE

♥ Trials and tribulations can be a test of our love. They can reveal whom or what we love most in our lives. They reveal our priorities and desires. The Lord wants us to love Him more than anybody else or anything else.

Romans 8:38-41 (New International Version)

38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(2) TEST OF FAITH

♥ Do we believe in God even in the midst of pain and suffering? Do we believe in the promises of God even when everything looks impossible?

1 Peter 1:6 (New International Version)

6In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.

(3) TEST OF OBEDIENCE

♥ Are we willing to obey god even when He commands you is to do what we do not like or what we wish to avoid?

Hebrews 5:8 (New International Version)

8Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered

(4) TEST OF SACRIFICE

♥ He tests the level of our willingness to sacrifice for Him.

John 12:24-26 (New International Version)

24I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me

Galatians 2:20 (New International Version)

20I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 6:14 (New International Version)

14May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which[a] the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

LOOKING OUT FOR ONE ANOTHER

Matthew 22:39 (New International Version)

39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

(1) LOVE ONE ANOTHER

John 13:34-35 (New International Version)

34"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

(2) RESTORE ONE ANOTHER AND CARRY EACH OTHER'S BURDEN

Galatians 6:1-2 (New International Version)

1Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. 2Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

(3) BEAR WITH AND FORGIVE ONE ANOTHER

Colossians 3:13 (New International Version)

13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

11Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

(5) ENCOURAGE AND PROTECT ONE ANOTHER FROM SIN

Hebrews 3:12-14 (New International Version)

12See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. 14We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.

(6) SPUR ONE ANOTHER ON TO LOVE AND GOOD WORK

Hebrews 10:24-25 (New International Version)

24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

(7) CONFESSION TO AND PRAY TO ONE ANOTHER

James 5:16 (New International Version)

16Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

OVERCOMING OUR HANDICAPS

I'd like to share this beautiful sermon/preach by our pastor last Sunday...hope that this will always remind you on how to overcome your struggles in life.

Mark 10:46-55 (New International Version)

Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight

46Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (that is, the Son of Timaeus), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"

48Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

49Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they called to the blind man, "Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you." 50Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

51"What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."

52"Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

In overcoming our handicaps or weaknesses in life, we should consider these factors:

(1) CONCENTRATE NOT ON YOUR WEAKNESSES. v.47

Bartimeaus is a blind man, but though he had this disadvantage, he never let it stop him from coming to Jesus. He used what he has to catch His attention. He used his strength for him to achieve his goal, and that is by the use of his voice.

(2) CONQUER PUBLIC OPINION. v.48

Following opinion of public would lead us to nowhere. We don't have to follow anybody or do what others most do. If Bartimaeus followed what the crowd was telling, he wouldn't had gotten close to Jesus.

(3) CAST OFF YOUR GARMENT. v.50

As what Bartimaeus did, when Jesus called him, he had no second thought on following Jesus despite that he had his misfortune. Jesus wants us to follow and trust Him wholeheartedly, without having doubt, without having uncertainty.

(4) COME TO JESUS. v.51

If we want to achieve our goals in life, just come to Jesus and everything will be fine. Jesus wants us to always remember, that we are His children.

David's Song of Praise

2 Samuel 22

1 David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. 2 He said:
"The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

3 my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation.
He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—
from violent men you save me.

4 I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
and I am saved from my enemies.

5 "The waves of death swirled about me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.

6 The cords of the grave coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.

7 In my distress I called to the LORD;
I called out to my God.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came to his ears.

8 "The earth trembled and quaked,
the foundations of the heavens shook;
they trembled because he was angry.

9 Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth,
burning coals blazed out of it.

10 He parted the heavens and came down;
dark clouds were under his feet.

11 He mounted the cherubim and flew;
he soared on the wings of the wind.

12 He made darkness his canopy around him—
the dark rain clouds of the sky.

13 Out of the brightness of his presence
bolts of lightning blazed forth.

14 The LORD thundered from heaven;
the voice of the Most High resounded.

15 He shot arrows and scattered the enemies ,
bolts of lightning and routed them.

16 The valleys of the sea were exposed
and the foundations of the earth laid bare
at the rebuke of the LORD,
at the blast of breath from his nostrils.

17 "He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.

18 He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me.

19 They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
but the LORD was my support.

20 He brought me out into a spacious place;
he rescued me because he delighted in me.

21 "The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.

22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD;
I have not done evil by turning from my God.

23 All his laws are before me;
I have not turned away from his decrees.

24 I have been blameless before him
and have kept myself from sin.

25 The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to my cleanness in his sight.

26 "To the faithful you show yourself faithful,
to the blameless you show yourself blameless,

27 to the pure you show yourself pure,
but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.

28 You save the humble,
but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.

29 You are my lamp, O LORD;
the LORD turns my darkness into light.

30 With your help I can advance against a troop ;
with my God I can scale a wall.

31 "As for God, his way is perfect;
the word of the LORD is flawless.
He is a shield
for all who take refuge in him.

32 For who is God besides the LORD ?
And who is the Rock except our God?

33 It is God who arms me with strength
and makes my way perfect.

34 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
he enables me to stand on the heights.

35 He trains my hands for battle;
my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

36 You give me your shield of victory;
you stoop down to make me great.

37 You broaden the path beneath me,
so that my ankles do not turn.

38 "I pursued my enemies and crushed them;
I did not turn back till they were destroyed.

39 I crushed them completely, and they could not rise;
they fell beneath my feet.

40 You armed me with strength for battle;
you made my adversaries bow at my feet.

41 You made my enemies turn their backs in flight,
and I destroyed my foes.

42 They cried for help, but there was no one to save them—
to the LORD, but he did not answer.

43 I beat them as fine as the dust of the earth;
I pounded and trampled them like mud in the streets.

44 "You have delivered me from the attacks of my people;
you have preserved me as the head of nations.
People I did not know are subject to me,

45 and foreigners come cringing to me;
as soon as they hear me, they obey me.

46 They all lose heart;
they come trembling from their strongholds.

47 "The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock!
Exalted be God, the Rock, my Savior!

48 He is the God who avenges me,
who puts the nations under me,

49 who sets me free from my enemies.
You exalted me above my foes;
from violent men you rescued me.

50 Therefore I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations;
I will sing praises to your name.

51 He gives his king great victories;
he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed,
to David and his descendants forever."
